A Word from WCRP Chairman

WCRP PCO’s

I trust that all of you had a wonderful Christmas time with your families, and I wish the very best for all of you this coming New Year.

This letter is my first as your newly elected Chairman and I want to share with you what has occurred since the Organization Meeting elections earlier this month. The Officers have met twice so far prior to taking the Christmas holidays off to be with our families. We have spent some time getting to know one another and then dove right in to discussing the Chairman’s vision that I shared with you in my Biography letter when campaigning for the position, and what will be our strategies and priorities moving our Party forward in 2023. I have been in contact with Caleb Heimlich, State Party Chairman, and he and I will be meeting after the first of the year. Next month State Committeeman Dan Robbins, State Committeewoman TawshaDyktsra, and I will be attending the State Committee meeting in Wenatchee, an information sharing, breakout sessions and strategy planning weekend for the entire Party, and to elect our State Chairman.

Here at home I am in process of identifying good Chair candidates for appointment to our Committees as required in our By-Laws. Several of those will be discussed at our Central Committee meeting in January.

During our first two Officer’s meetings we began prioritizing the appointment of Chair positions and Event planning. One of our highest priority objectives is to improve and enhance the “Brand” identity of the Republican Party, who we are, what we believe, why we believe it, and why it is the best way of life for our community. That will be accomplished through a year round Communication Committee led by a Chair and Vice Chair. It is a very important responsibility and will require a great deal of dedication. We have let the Democrats brand us and control the message to the public for far too long. Those days are over. Also, I am pursuing a Fund Raising Committee Chairman and have a few meetings already scheduled for that. Our highest visibility fund raising event is the Lincoln Day Dinner. It will be held on Friday April 14th at the Ferndale Events Center. Typically we hold that earlier in the year, but affordable event locations and our caterer were not available until then. We have already been organizing the team to begin our preparations. Our next very high visibility event is the Northwest Washington Fair in Lynden next August, I plan to have the full volunteer team in place by the first of March and have the entire Fair presentation plan in place by the end of May, led by a Chairman and a Vice Chairman that will put together our Fair Team. We are looking into hiring a Political Director for the upcoming 2023 election season, a person that will work in concert with the Candidate Development Committee. Additionally, a new strategy that we will be putting in place this year is a Forums and Issues event, to be held at the VFW Hall in Lynden as a brand messaging and public education and topical presentation meeting. Initially planned at 2 month intervals, sooner if we can arrange for good speakers and moderators more frequently.
