Our Platform is the official document that defines the issues that are of great importance to Whatcom Republicans. A draft document was written and submitted by Platform Chair Eileen Sobjack and committee members Carolyn Anderson, Anne Culbertson, Hugh Foulke, Don Hansey, Gerrit Kuiken and Bruce Tippery. The document was edited by Paul Galletly and Anne Culbertson.
This document was amended and approved by a majority vote of delegates at the 2010 Whatcom County Convention on Saturday, March 20 in Bellingham.
As you will see in our approved platform authentic Republican values include:
- Less Government and lower taxes
- Private property rights
- Voter integrity and ballot security
- Protecting human life from conception to natural death
- Respecting traditional marriage
- Religious liberty
- Judges who respect the Constitution
- Border security
- Reducing dependence on foreign oil
