If you have never attended a Lincoln Day Dinner, you’re missing something special. Last night was no exception. We had a great turnout, and we want to thank everyone who attended, everyone who bid in the silent auction, and in the live auction. We want to thank the sponsors who donated items for the auctions. We are grateful to the staff at Four Points by Sheraton where we held the event.
We want to thank Senator Doug Ericksen for being the emcee for the evening. Senator Ericksen, and also Representatives Vince Buys and Luanne Van Werven provided valuable insight and updates on what’s going on in the Washington Legislature. And our featured speaker, Senator Don Benton, gave us some very interesting insight into the Trump Train campaign trail. We had no idea!
Dan Johnson was our entertaining auctioneer for the evening. Our annual Lincoln Day Dinner is our primary fundraiser for the year, and it didn’t disappoint. A good auctioneer makes the difference between a fundraiser and a bureaucracy. This one will allow us to perform the tasks needed to help make America, Washington State and Whatcom County great again. It was especially gratifying to see the support for our Candidate School. Thanks again, everyone!
We can’t fail to mention Melodie Kirk and her LDD committee for all their hard work and effort. The amount of work, and attention to detail made this large and complex event come off without a hitch. Also thanks to Ben O’Brine for helping keep us on schedule, and making sure everyone was where they needed to be, when they needed to be there.
