Volunteers are greatly needed NOW to make telephone calls reminding Whatcom County voters that the Conservation District ballots are not mailed to them unless they request them by February 7th. Easy training is available at the GOP headquarters on Bakerview from Tuesday – Friday, 10 am to 3 pm. You will need to take your cell phone. Mary Miller says even the most reluctant volunteer for calling up strangers will get the tools to do the job. Once trained, you can make the calls from your home. For more information, email Mary at email@example.com or Text to 360-389-7874. Her phone will be busy.
It is crucial that we support Larry Helm in the Conservation District election. Two other men filed for the seat on the last day to declare. We must be prepared for strong opposition. Larry has been an asset to the C.D. board for 5 years, and now serves as Chairman. He is the last active farmer on that board! Larry Helm was recognized by the Washington State Conservation Commission as Supervisor of the Year for the Northwest Area. He is working hard to protect our local farms and those local businesses which support our agriculture industry.
The left have been beating the bushes to get Western Students to request ballots. Permanent residents, with a vested interest in local agriculture and property rights need to request their ballots, and encourage their neighbors to do the same.
