“I thought it was great” … “I’m so glad I came, it was well worth my Saturday”…
That is just a snippet of the feedback we received about the awesome Northwest Republican Leadership Conference that was held here in Whatcom County last Saturday. Over 80 people of all ages came from as far as Island and Snohomish County to learn how to be better involved in their communities, network with other activists, & have a good time.
One of the workshops.
Our topics covered everything from keeping elected officials accountable to communicating our message effectively. One of the biggest highlights of the day was the mock convention where we learned how the 2016 convention will work.
We were very excited to have KGMI come and broadcast from the conference for two hours. You can listen to part one here and part two here.
One of the things we did during the day was a Presidential Straw Poll. Scott Walker came in top with 60% of the vote and Dr. Ben Carson was second with 10% of the vote. Carly Fiorina came in third with 8.6% of the vote.
Chairman Charlie Crabtree said “It was a great day for everyone. Our State will not have a Presidential Primary next year and all our delegates for the nomination of President will be selected by the Party Caucus next March, the County Convention, and the State Convention in May. We have a wide range of great Presidential Candidates to choose from and many who attended today will help us lead Regional Republicans through the grassroots process of delegate selection next year.”
The conference was also a great
way to kickoff our summer activities!
We are planning on having a booth at many of the different community events this summer. We will need volunteers to man the booths to make it a success.
Please consider volunteering at a booth for a couple of hours this summer. It is sure to be a lot of fun!
